Money-saving local directory launched by Archway Town Centre Management Group

Archway Town Centre Management Group announces today that 20,000 Archway business directories are being printed and will be distributed throughout the local area in the coming week.

The directory, which details every local business free of charge, has been funded by the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund, following a successful bid by Islington Council. The directory is part of a £92,500 package of projects for Archway.

In addition to a full business listing, the directory provides information about the local area and contains money off vouchers for many Archway establishments. The vouchers cover restaurants, cafes, hair and beauty salons, DIY, printing and even gym memberships providing financial benefits to local residents during these tough economic times.

The directory was compiled by the Archway Town Centre Management Group with the support of Islington Council. The publication was written, designed and printed in Archway.

Of the 20,000 copies which have been produced, 12,000 will be delivered to residents of Archway, Highgate, Tufnell Park and Dartmouth Hill. A further 3,000 will be distributed outside local tube stations, 4,000 will be available from the library and the final thousand will be dispersed to local businesses.

Mark Brearley, Head of Design for London said:

"I am delighted to see this business directory and all of the other ways that Islington Council and the Archway Town Centre Management Group are making the most of the Mayor's Outer London Fund. These are the kind of initiatives that the Mayor of London is keen to encourage, and that are helping to strengthen the vibrancy and growth of high street places across the capital."
